Mario can't do everything alone - sometimes he needs help! Here are some of his helpers:
Toad - citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom are called Toads (for "toadstools"). Some work as attendants for Princess Peach, and there are many brave and loyal Toads who help Mario in his quests.
Yoshi - is a small green dinosaur who helps Mario using his long tongue to snag things (among other abilities he has).
Sonic- is a hedgehog who isn't really part of Mario except for the Wii game Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. In the game they compete in Olympic events like running - it is totally cool to see these two characters together!
